Wind on scene was a North Easterly force 3-4 with a Slight sea and Fair visibility.
RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat was launched to a report of person having fallen from the road bridge.
Forth Coastguard requested an immediate launch to a person in the water. The lifeboat arrived on scene to find the casualty had been secured by a singe-handed fisherman, who had been unable to recover them onboard.
Crewmembers Leil and Crawford recovered the casualty onboard, and made for Hawes Pier at best speed.
A paramedic crew met the lifeboat and treated the casualty. The casualty was later pronounced dead.
